Here is Gary's letter from July 6th, 2015
Gary is doing so amazing he is absolutely loving his mission and I am so amazed how good he is at writing emails, it is so fun to here about all he is doing.

Such a great week even though we didn`t do a ton we went on blitzes wednesday which was awesome. Me and my companion elder teeples we saw a lemonade stand and he really wanted to stop by so we did and it was pretty hot that day im not gonna lie. Like i would lie anyways haha im a missionary. But the lemonade was glorious and only 25 cents too, made my whole day. We were talking to the girls running the stand they had just gotten out of school for the summer and their grandma was sitting on her porch. We ended up teaching the grandma and became very well acquainted with her we actually gave her the servey on families and it ties into the gospel and we taught her about the restoration but she was pretty content about her religion. Said she was happy and she wished us good luck and we said our goodbyes and were on our way. We met another guy from utah or he was familiar with utah anyways but it was so good to hear from someone that shared the same love for utah that i had he was way cool his name was mike. He said he loved utah the mountains and everything and then he said he hadn`t been down to moab or southern utah and i was like oh man you have not lived!!!!! I said something along the lines of. If you think your knowledge of what you have seen of utah is beautiful you need to travel to southern utah just stunning. Made me miss it alot and i mean aaaallllllooooootttttt!!!!!! 

              So a really funny story about friday so we were on companion exchanges i was with elder higgins just for the day well i guess he slept over but anyways. We were at this investigators house his name is brian and we were sharing scriptures because we had planned for a long lesson about the plan of salvation. But he said we could only come over for like 20 minutes it ended up being over an hour. So were sharing scriptures right about how the spirit speaks to you and holy hannah i could not believe it we were reading a scripture about jesus in revelations. And all of a sudden just BAM a bird slams into the window and i was thinking to myself what the??? Brian jumps up and starts shouting its jesus its jesus we start laughing our heads off it was so stinkin hilarious. Definitely could not have been timed more perfect. It was so funny the week before when we met with him his wife was there with us. I hope i didn`t tell this story already but, when we started teaching, this little girl pops up out of no where and were having our lesson outside to give you a little more perspective. She starts saying in her funny little voice, "SSSHHHH Be quiet there`s a witch that just moved in that house up stairs. She was referring to brians ex wife and i don`t know if the little girl realized but she was sitting right there with us. I honestly thought she was posessed or something, really weird though it scared the crap out of us because literally she came out of no where. Afterwards we were laughing though because the ex wife said that she knew the little girl was referring to her. She said it was her next door neighbors who told the little girl to say it but it was very rude i thought!

            Family and friends im so thankful for all the letters and packages and emails you have sent they made me so happy i just love hearing of whats going on at home. And no it does not make me home sick when you talk about all of the cool stuff that is going on i just simply love it. I just have to say KEEP IT UP!!! I hope everyone is doing great cause i know i am. Sounds like  a ton of work is going on at home i just wish i could be there to help makes me kind of jealous. I cant believe brandon got a truck that is so awesome and the fact that you let him dad that just tells us how great of a father you are to your children.  Not fully though don`t be getting puffed up dad. Is brandon selling his touareg then i sure hope not i love that car. The yard is looking so great dad i truly have to say im proud of you and your hard work i hope its worth it to you. Sorry to hear that the deer ate your plants haha whats new right... Your going to have to install a 20 foot fence along that if you want some sure security maybe get a guard dog thats what i would do. good luck though with whatever it is you do. Keep working on that front yard though i did my best to help you out before i left i expect it to be done by the time im home. Just kidding but try your best to work on it don`t break your back though that would not be good. Im going to try to send you all hand written letters this week oh wow thats a lot of writing im gonna have this week pray extra hard for me alright so that i may be able cause i really want to! PS i only write you letters if you write me letters unless if your special just know that! :b Hope you all had an amazing fourth of july mine was rather interesting to say the least! good to hear your getting rid of some of those fish tanks because you have about ten to many good stuff though for sure. Great to hear the women of the house are working hard i cant believe it got up over 100 though that must have been brutal. I hope its been cooling off a bit in bountiful. Every thing you sent me this last week was awesome mom especially those bubbles they were weird but super cool looked like they were made of some type of plastic. Thanks for the candy that made me so happy you know me too well!!! :) I hope kaitlin and makenzie are doing well i miss them so much it was funny this week when we were on exchanges when i was with elder higgins he was asking me if he could write makenzie it made me chuckle because i realized she`s not a little girl anymore she can stinkin date now im wowed by all the life events that are taking place even just this short month that i`ve been out. oh and before i become an even more horrible brother and forget again happy birthday zach and kenzie i hope they are and were awesome and silly and amazing and much much more cause you deserve them. By the way how is jared and brandon doing not to mention josh and jessica geeze how is everyone doing i want to know hehehe i miss you all so much i feel like im so close yet so far away! I want you all to know i think about you every day and some even more than that. I have to say to those who are able prepare for a MISSION it is so awesome i don`t know that i ever want to come home the work is definitely addicting. So prepare now you will be so happy you did it will prepare you to be the best father or mother you can be i have already learned that being only one month in. Its funny i say that like its been a long time but i feel like its been a few short minutes since you dropped me at the curb and said your goodbyes. I am not even kidding you i just hope i dont blink because before i know it i`ll be greeting you at the airport. hahaha But i challenge each of you who aren`t already make the savior the center of your life he will help you for he knows you better than you do. You will be humbled and feel of that love he has for you especially as you pray to him as often as you can and read the Book Of Mormon i know this for a fact. And yes dad i have thought alot about what i will be doing when my mission is over you don`t need to worry about that. Just keep yourselves worthy to enter the temple always it will be a sanctuary for you where you know satan`s influences can not be. Please try to go at least once a week if not once a month you are very lucky to live near a temple its unreal how lucky you are i miss the temple so so much. So please just strive your best to be there!!!!!! :D I love you all to the stars and back and back and even more than that. WoW i guess im a poet and i didn`t know it. hahahahaha Love you all more than you know, keep smiling!!!! :D til next time :)

This is Elder Wheelers letter from today June 22, 2015

So a little bit ha ha or a lot that's gone on since i left the MTC. So we left the MTC around 2:30 and i was up all night packing like til the last second and i still wasn`t ready i hadn`t really even weighed my bag. So my room mates had to help me weight them and one of them weighed it wrong so i had to get rid of some stuff to make it weigh below 50 lbs. so anyways we leave the residence head down to the travel office and check out and load up on buses and say good bye to our MTC family it was a sad farewell.

 We traveled about 45 minutes to the airport and my companion elder Schoenfeld talked the whole way there to this other sister named sister wright who was in our district i think he really likes her so i couldn`t really get like one ounce of sleep which was horrible. But anyways we arrived at the airport and waited in front for the longest time we finally went in and waited for a long time and i was so confused to what it was we were doing. after a half an hour or forty five minutes of waiting around we finally check in on these computers i was the last to check in they said we could call home when we were done but they had me convinced that if we waited til later we would get more time to talk if we waited til we got to Minneapolis for the layover. But anyways we go through security and i saw the spot where we tore out an old restaurant when i worked for TID demolition so it kind of brought back memories. After i admired my work i headed down to the gate and a little after that we boarded turned out my carry on was too big but a tender mercy was they were checking bags for free because of the limited amount of room. The way there was cool i got a window seat which made me so happy. looking out that window over the earth just tells you how good god really is its so amazing how beautiful he made this earth! so we flew for five hours and then arrived in Minneapolis st Paul.

 I was desperate to call home ha ha not really but i wanted to try so i had bought a card at the MTC store for calls for 10 bucks turns out the card didn't work so i was out of luck there. So turns out we didn't have much time to call so i was very disappointed. But thankfully one of the elders let me use their prepaid cell phone for one minute and that's when i called you mom! It was really good to hear your voices for the last time in who knows how long!?!?! 

shortly after that we boarded and made our way to Milwaukee where we met the mission president and rode to the stake center where we had lunch. The rest of the day we learned about all of the things we`ll use and need here. By the way i hadn`t slept in like 36-46 hours so i was tired!!!! Afterwards we ate dinner which was amazing sister cutler is an amazing cook we`re very lucky. We slept at the mission home that night and then we had an amazing breakfast that morning after talking about good advice we had received for our missions. And also the elders in the other room saw a really weird looking bug or spider like thing in their room so they have a lot of weird insects here! anyways we go back to the stake center and then we received our new companions and area calls. So i guess you know where i am according to the email you sent.

 But yeah i`m here in escanaba and for some reason i keep wanting to call it Escanada but that's just me! But yeah Escanaba Michigan the good ole U.P., OH and how could i forget my new companion is Elder Arnold hes awesome and really hilarious like really hilarious no joke he has til September so im probably his last companion he`s from sandy if you were wondering. So more about the journey we traveled from Milwaukee to green bay and then up to Escanaba we arrived here at around 8 pm.

 I got settled in and my companion made us fettuccine Alfredo ha ha freaking made my day i was so happy. Fun fact there are a ton of spiders here freaky looking ones too and it turns out a lot of people rarely use their front doors unless of course that's all they have but every door we go to when we go tracting have big webs going across there front porch and doors. Alright so Thursday we went out tracting kind of by the beach and approached a girl and and told her a little about the restoration but she was not interested like every other person here but its exciting teaching people i love it so much! Our apartment is about five to ten blocks from the beach which is cool and we do have a mission vehicle which is another tender mercy im so thankful for that.

 Also basically everyone here are missing teeth smoke or something of the sort. EVERYONE has at least one dog its so crazy, intimidating a lot of the time though! oh i forgot to tell you about my first tracting experience when i first arrived at the stake center in Milwaukee. so story goes i was with elder fry so we choose this street just in front of the library it was shaped like an L and was a dead end so we start on the right side of the street and everyone i swear said the were busy and it turns out the Jehovah's witness stopped by a couple days earlier so they thought that was us but any ways we head right toward the dead end and there was a very nice guy just like everyone else but just weren`t interested anyways this guy said he was catholic but said he had LDS friends so he talked to us for a second but told us he wasn`t interested so he said he didn`t want to wast our time by trying to teach him. So we move on and arrive at the house on the end of the street at the dead end and apparently a 100 year old lady lived there so the neighbor who happened to be there said shes not interested and that we`d be putting her out if we taught her our beliefs. so we moved on to the next house which was on the opposite side of the street. a lady answers the door and says were just leaving and her two daughters were out playing so we start leaving and the daughters say hi and my companion for some reason asked their names and so they told us and then shortly after invited us to see some baby birds. My companion obliged and i was like what in the world are you doing so they start to lead my companion towards the backyard and the mom yells out "STRANGER DANGER" so i was like wow elder fry you`ve really done it now but we kind of just hurried away from the house nothing happened thank goodness 

Then we start rounding the bend and go up to another house and a guy answers the door and says can you please take us off your list. And were just like huh? we thought to ourselves we don't have a list but because of the situation we said yes and left laughing to ourselves because we didn't have a list but said we would take him off of it! with no one interested in hearing our message we come to the last house and knock on the door but no one answered so we leave but all of a sudden we hear the door break open and a lady comes out with a dog and listened to our message but was not interested sadly. Definitely good stuff but just remember the last door can quite possibly be the winner which was cool because we felt like we had failed on  that street but sharing with that one lady was so cool!

 So anyways i thought i should share that. Back to life here in escanaba so something that has really been bothering me is the atmosphere here it just feels like something is really missing here its so weird i cant even explain. But im pretty sure its because the gospel is so sparse, there's a very small branch here there's about fourty to fifty members that are active definitely not what im used to. There`s basically only 4 Melchizedek priesthood holders here which i have no idea how they survive just count your blessings guys they sure are there just unnoticed is all! The church is very small but surprisingly they have a baptistry the chapel or meeting room doesn't have pews and your kitchen and living room are probably bigger than it which is kind of weird to me and sacrament was so loud yesterday it was nuts. kids screaming and yelling everywhere it was insane!

 Alright moving on so Friday we had someone request a bible and so we went and visited and she was solid, and yes 'was is the fact she sadly called us and told us not to come back because her pastor said something about us so you know the struggle is real but we had offered to mow her extremely long grass and said we could so we planned to do that Saturday but it rained which really sucked and so we called here and that's when she told us that she didn't want us to come over it was so sad my heart just broke when i heard that i have a feeling that's going to be happening a lot out here.

 :( Another good story though so we were at one of the members homes who is inactive and she was telling us about how she has bad vertigo so she is going to need a wheel chair soon. After that story she told us about how she was going out and apparently there was a hostage situation going on in one of the neighbors homes so she was told not to come back for a while and so she came back later that night and they told her again that the problem was still not resolved so she went to the police station and she was talking to the police about the situation and one of the cops was standing behind the one talking to her kind of snickering. And then finally says "nice shirt" turns out she had a shirt on that said if you see DA police warn a brotha.  And it was a Warner brothers t shirt and she was like oh my goodness i am so sorry and they were just cracking up about it but yeah some crazy stories here for sure!

 We were in another members home on Saturday and the kids were just crazy trying to hug us and sit on us but were not allowed to let children hug or do anything of the sort but they just kept doing it oh and before i forget to tell you it was so cool we were in this older members home and he had some sick guns from the Korean war he let us hold them and check them out. The guy really reminded me of grandpa he was so nice and he has so many stories its crazy but hes my favorite member so far but don't tell anyone hahahaha just kidding. but yeah i have pictures with the guns ill probably send those to you next week!

 Last but not least yesterday Sunday we went to a guys home he`s a paraplegic he was so cool i loved him so much he loves hugs and if you know me i do too!!! It made him happy when we gave him a hug and they had this dog it was so cute and i was playing with it for the longest time he was fun to play with yes life gets boring out here especially when you don't have pets. But we also gave them the sacrament which was an exceptionally awesome experience and we get to see them again this week on Wednesday so im very happy about that!

 speaking of pets we have a pet turtle and a fluff ball that the primary made for their fathers for fathers day and for us "future fathers" haha i thought that was so funny! And no not a real turtle ha ha i wish you have no idea its a wood turtle that a member made for my companion! I didn't know i was capable of writing a novel but turns out i did i love to the stars and forever after that! And im so thankful for all your prayers just know i pray for all of you like a lot. keep smiling everybody if you don't smile well now is the time to start. keep me updated with all that's going on! I have to tell you my favorite thing out here is looking out over the lake its just like an ocean i don't know why its just one of my favorite things. By the way my address is:

hey this is for everyone just so you let everyone at home read it! So yes we heve been really busy here and im really trying but its tough im so slow in everything it seems like when everyone gets done studying or reading im just starting to get the first part of what im studying so im kind of struggling as far as studying goes. But dont worry im trying my best and the stake president said as long as its my best ill be fine. I am so so so so so sad that grandpa died im like overwhelmed that it happened so quickly i wondered why i was having some weird feelings the past couple of days. I really wished i could have gone to the funeral. Thanks for sending me that picture and yeah did i say missionary portal for some reason i cant find that email i sent of that. But i meant to tell you dear elder just look it up its pretty cool instead of writing letters they print the email you send out so i have a hard copy so try and email me through that its very nice to have the hard copies.  only while im at the mtc though. Ill be departing from the mtc on the 16th so im supposed to report to the travel office i think thats here at 2:30 AM and the plane leaves 5:50 AM just fyi so you can wave to my plan as i fly over hahaha! But im doing great and no thats not what they force you to say here so you dont get discouraged about me i really am doing great and my companion is a stud and is such an awesome companion always positive and keeping me in line because im always late for most things. And i just read that email about grandpa dying today which is tuesday i just dont know how to feel i just kind of feel like crying but at the same time i dont want to get overwhelmed because i really need to focus on the work here! yesterday was so funny we completely bombed one of our teaching sessions my companion kind of just told him everything about the gospel and he just wouldn`t stop talking or barely let me talk so we had a good laugh even though its pretty serious when you blow your chance to get an investigator. Its crazy that it all is about preach my gospel and what that book teaches and i didnt study it at all before i came here so im kind of bummed i didnt know about that! Its really good to hear whats going on at home i enjoyed hearing about the snowmobiles and how zach helped you get them in the trailer dad. Did someone tell me that it rained some more haha whats new right!?!? sorry you didn`t make it before he passed mom thats so sad but its so great that we have that reassurance of seeing hime kind of like dad said how he can now see all of his family that has passed if i didn`t have that reassurance i would likely have the opposite state of mind i love knowing that i can see him again. I can really feel your prayers im so blessed and i pray for all of you also so thank you so much all of you. I love you guys and am greatful for all of your sacrifices on my part its so very humbling i miss my sisters so much not to mention my brothers. And yes you to mom and dad you are my heroes for all your support. cool story for today we had the chance to do a session at the temple today it was so amazing i loved it so much. I hope you all get the chance to go to the temple every now and then but try your best to if you dont because you may not understand we are so lucky to have a temple so close we really are. The greatest blessings come from the temple and what we do therein so i challenge everyone to make yourself worthy and just go to the temple. I`ll try to write you individual letters but its really hard because of the slim amount of time i have on the side of everything our bed time is 10:30 thats when lights out is so we only have like a half hour maybe more if i hurry to take a shower and all of the other stuff i have to do include studying. speaking of sisters and brothers i have alot of them here its so awesome were all like family here atleast within our district. some of the missionaries in our zone are converts which is way cool. i can`t send pictures now because we have to have a card reader so yeah thats kind of dumb i know. well my time is winding down hopefully ill be able to send you letters soon. if not Just know i still love You more than a fat kid loves brownies which is alot! Send my reguards to grandma and  that im thinking about her how is she doing by the way? til next time god be with you til i write you again corresponding to the song.

Wow it looks like it has been a long time since I posted.
Lots has happened, I have a darling Grand Baby , Named Lincoln that is now 2 years old.

My son Zachary is now back from his Mission and Gary Jordan left for his mission on June 3 to the MTC and on June 16th Left for Milwakee Wisconsin to serve his Heavenly Father for 2 Years.

ZACH IS DOING SO WELL ON HIS MISSION, HE LOVES BRAZIL AND THE PEOPLE.
HE DEFINITELY HAS LEARNED THE LANGUAGE WELL.

HERE IS ELDER WHEELERS LAST LETTER HE WROTE:

Hola Familia,

     This week we had 3 people in sacrament meeting.  2 of which we are teaching and the other a member brought.  

      Juliana is one of our investigators and she is really liking the church.  She is only waiting for an answer that this is the true church.  Also her sister went to church with her.  This family is really great,  they are passing hard times.  But they welcome us really well.  This week we will be focusing on finding lots of new people.

     The Master could be found mingling with the poor, the downtrodden, the oppressed, and the afflicted.  He brought op0e to the hopeless, strength to the weak, and freedom to the captive.  He taught of the better life to come--even eternal life.

We need to look to the lords path not our own path and do ALL that the lord commands and this is where we will find true happiness.
